Sylvilagus floridanus
There are several species of bats in park including Wood Bat and Mexican Free Tail . They are nocturnal. Look up into sky near trees just at dusk and you might see them darting around the top of the tree eating insects. There are at least 33 species of bats found in Texas, but we do not have vampire bats. Vampire bats are found only in Central and South America. However, Texas bats can catch rabies and pass it on to other animals.
