Didelphis virginiana
The Opossum is North American’s only marsupial. It is primarily nocturnal and generally peaceful. Possums are omnivores, their diet includes bugs, insects, ticks, ants, roaches, lizards, spiders, fruit, berries, roadkill carrion, pet food and garbage left outside houses (and campsites), crustations, birds, rabbits, frogs, and vegetables.
The scientific name is Didelphis virginiana.
